Obamacare abortions come to Pennsylvania

For months and months leading up to the final vote on Obamacare, I (and many others) claimed that the new legislation would result in new streams of tax-payer dollars paying for abortions and going to abortion providers.

This story has also been covered by LifeNews (internet mega-portal The Drudge Report linked to it), CNSNews and others.

What can I say? I’m not surprised. I understood intuitively that if Planned Parenthood supported the final bill, they knew that they would get the money out of it which they wanted for their abortion business. Planned Parenthood understood this, but some Catholics did not.

What I’d like to hear now, once again, is how those who claim to be pro-life and who claimed time-and-time again that this health care bill would not result in things like the Pennsylvania law, will try to explain this. I’m thinking of groups like the Catholic Health Association in particular (aside: if you have not yet signed our 55,000 count petition to them, please do).

Remember the CatholicVote YouTube/TV ad “Casey at the Bat?” We asked for Senator Casey and other Catholic pro-life politicians not to let us down. They did (Congressman Bart Stupak did), and other Catholics (such as Sister Carol Keehan) helped them.

Now we all have to do our best to save the at-risk babies in Pennsylvania, even as our tax dollars pay for their death.
